Mind-Body Intruders: Where has your supply of vitamins and minerals gone?

More than three-quarters of the UK population possibly suffer from parasitic infestation. There are hundreds of human species of parasites, from a single cell to several meters long. Many people aren’t aware of hosting uninvited guests. However, they may only experience symptoms when there is a full and new moon, as parasites become more active during these times. Nevertheless, signs and symptoms don’t have to appear immediately after an infestation.

Signs of hookworms, tapeworms, and roundworms

Unfortunately, parasitic infestation can be misdiagnosed or even undetected by medical care. Some indications that you may have parasites are grinding teeth, restless nights, sugar cravings, anal itching, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, arthritis, migraines, joint pain, dry skin, allergy, dark circles under the eyes, and more.

Parasitic infections can hinder the absorption of vitamins and minerals. For example:

In her book Guess What Came to Dinner, Ann Louise Gittleman describes six ways in which parasites damage the host’s body:

  • destroy cells faster than they can regenerate

  • produce toxic substances that can push the immune system to override

  • cause inflammation, and depress the immune system while activating the immune response, resulting in immune exhaustion

We usually think parasites are in the gut. Yet they can be hiding in the liver, blood, lymph, lungs, gums, brain —basically anywhere. They can hijack chemistry in the body by colonizing the gut and changing signals between the gut and the brain. Parasites use and abuse their hosts; they dump their waste that can leak into the bloodstream, causing a lot of mischief from physical to emotional symptoms.

Blame pinworms for turning an angel into a holy terror.

I recall a mother who contacted me about her little girl’s behaviour. Her daughter became a holy terror. During a free consultation, it became clear that her daughter's behaviour changed after their exotic holiday. Immediately, I had my suspicion of the high possibility of undesirable guests. Human Parasites aren’t life-threatening. They want their host to live so that they can use and abuse him/her. However, if they overstay their welcome, they can cause serious neurological or autoimmune issues for their host.
